This effective and simple to use sharpener is suitable for all knives except those that are sharpened on one side only. It consists of two ceramic wheels - a white one that's coarse and a pink one that completes the sharpening process. The extra large ceramic wheels sharpen the maximum surface area of the blade at the perfect angle for a longer lasting razor sharp edge. It also operates with the use of water which keeps the ceramic wheels rinsed. Once filled with water, hold the sharpener flat on your countertop, firmly gripping one side to keep it steady. Holding the knife with your other hand, position the blade perpendicular into the groove with the white coarse wheel and move back and forth. Repeat with the pink finishing wheel. No heavy pressure is necessary. After sharpening, hand wash knife in hot water and dry completely
